MST Indigenous Justice Centre
Situated in the shared territories of the Squamish, Musqueam, and Tsleil Waututh Nations in the heart of Downtown Vancouver, a new centre for Justice opened. We contributed our art along with 2 other artists from Musqueam and Tsleil Waututh.
Thunderbird House Post Design
Depicted in the house post design is the mighty Thunderbird catching Lightning Snakes in its talons as prey. The Thunderbird is a supernatural being that was sent by the creator to be a teacher to the people of this world. Beneath the Thunderbird are two wolves facing each other which represents the families of the Squamish people. At the top right of the design is an outline of Black Tusk Mountain which is where the Thunderbird is said to roost.
Plant Medicines
The Justice centre has designated quiet spaces that they wished to have easily identifiable iconography, with the theme being plants that were important to our respective nations.
